The Salvation Army would like to extend an invitation to the community of Freeborn County to join together for a Thanksgiving dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Fairlane Building in the Freeborn County Fairgrounds, according to a press release.
Community organizers of the annual event state that the meal is intentionally on the day before the traditional Thanksgiving because they want to celebrate this meal with the entire community.
“Come for the table is set,” Maj. Louise Delano-Sharpe said.
The meal is not to single out just the less fortunate, but to be inclusive of all of those who want to be family.
The Salvation Army said it is blessed with volunteers from the community who want to help with the meal and welcomes the support. However, it also wants everyone to be able to participate in the event.
Those interested in helping with the meal can call 507-373- 5710.
