The United South Central girls’ tennis team got a much-needed shot of confidence with a 7-0 win over LeCenter Thursday afternoon in LeCenter.
The Rebels (3-3) have been plagued by inconsistencies and haven’t been able to get on track thus far, but they rolled Thursday as No. 1 singles player Carolyn Schmitz picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win over Genny Pertricka for her first win of the season.
At No. 1 doubles Kellie Robbins and Molly Yokiel continued to roll, grabbing a 6-0, 6-0 win over Taylor Murry and Carly McCabe.
Ali Ramsely dropped the first set in her match against Megan Kelly 3-6, but came back strongly for a 6-2, 6-0 win.
Haleigh Korn and Megan Allis played a tightly contested three set match at No. 2 doubles against Danille Steinborn and Jenny Frederick. Korn and Allis won 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2).
