Area students named to Buena Vista dean’s list

Area students named to Buena Vista dean’s list
Area students have been named to the dean’s list for terms three and four at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Amanda Schroeder of Albert Lea and Craig Budach of Northwood, Iowa, both seniors, have been named to the list. To be included, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or better for the two terms. Schroeder received a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
Area students graduate from Gustavus Adolphus
The following local individuals were among the 608 students to graduate with bachelor of arts degrees from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter during the school’s annual commencement exercises on May 31.
From Albert Lea: Kristin Mummert, cum laude, communication studies major.
From Glenville: Holly Andersen, magna cum laude, psychology major.
From New Richland: Lynsi Espe, magna cum laude, nursing major.
From Wells: Angela Hernandez, cum laude, Spanish major.
Cum laude honors are awarded to students with a grade-point average of 3.5 to 3.699. Magna cum laude honors go to those students with grade-point averages of 3.7 to 3.899.
Area students on St. Cloud State dean’s list
St. Cloud State University has announced the names of students whose academic achievement placed them on the spring semester dean’s list. To be eligible for the honor, students must have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher.
The following area students were included.
From Albert Lea: Melissa Rae Reichl, College of Social Sciences, community development major, 4.0 grade-point average.
From Alden: Kendra Kay Mathiason, College of Education, early childhood education major, 4.0 grade-point average.
From Ellendale: Ashley Kristine Renchin, College of Science and Engineering, radiologic technology major, 4.0 grade-point average.
Jamie Klein honored for academic achievement
Jamie Klein, a junior from Wells, was recognized for academic achievement at the St. Olaf College’s annual Honors Day convocation on May 1. Honors Day recognizes all full-time seniors and special students who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher, and all full-time juniors, sophomores and first-year students who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.60 or higher.
Klein, a graduate of United South Central High School, is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Timothy Klein. She is majoring in English and psychology.
