Here are highlights in history for Nov. 3, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1984 — The Tribune endorsed Rep. Henry Kalis (DFL-Walters), Rep. Bob Haukoos (IR-Albert Lea) and Rep. Jerry Schoenfeld (IR-Waseca) for reelection to the Minnesota Legislature.

1954 — Construction was underway on the addition to the Freeborn County Courthouse on the north side. (Note: This building no longer exists.)

1954 — The Albert Lea High School Tigers football team defeated the team from Mankato High School with a score of 19-13.
