Freeborn County Home Council

The Freeborn County Home Council met at the home of Gen Montei on Oct. 20. President Marcia Petersen opened the meeting. Vice President Ardus Sanderson led the homemakers creed. Secretary Perky Smith took roll call with four learning circles represented.

Montei gave the treasurer’s report.

Bev Diercks, S.E. district representative, reported on the district fall event held at Daniel’s in Kasson. Seventy people attended. Diercks took two gift centerpieces for the tables from Freeborn County. There was a cluster meeting on Oct. 21 to discuss the spring event to be held in April.

Alden Homemakers Club is working on plans for Holiday Happenings to be held on Dec. 5. A mailing will follow.

Petersen, Sanderson and Diercks were to attend the Nov. 4 district cluster meeting Nov. 4 in Owatonna.

Petersen reported on attending the 4-H banquet Oct. 18 at the Fairlane Building. She presented a cash award to the home economics winner, Elissa Goskeson.

The 2009-2010 handbook was received.

The Domestic Engineers reported delivering 20 boxes of clothing to the St. Peter Hospital in October.

The next county meeting will be the Dec. 5 Holiday Happenings. The next Home Council meeting will be at the home of Jean Buboltz Jan. 19.
