Published Friday, November 6, 2009

Here are highlights in history for Nov. 6, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1987 — One of the issues being considered by the Albert Lea City Council was based on possibly suspending parking enforcement in the city’s central business district during the month before Christmas.

1977 — A third of property within the city was tax exempt. This property included parks, public buildings, churches and rectories, and nursing homes.

1967 — The 23-mile section of Interstate 35 from Clarks Grove to Owatonna was opened for traffic.
