The Albert Lea LakeView Lions Club will host a spring flower and garden show beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at the Albert Lea Elks Club.
There will be floral demonstrations by Tina Stripe of Flowers by Curt; RaNae Bohm, Nancy Golde and Cheryl Lavalier Nelson of Ben’s Floral & Frame Designs; Kate Abbe-Meyers of Hy-Vee Floral; Genie Foss and Betty Young of Johnson Floral; and Julie Hendrickson of The Flower Market at Rainbow Foods. There will also be a presentation by Wedge Nursery.
&uot;We want to get people in the mood for spring, and we’re trying something new,&uot; said LakeView Lions President Judy Hagmann.
The event is being chaired by Cheryl Smith. She said she got the idea from her sister, who lives in a Chicago suburb.
&uot; It’s something fresh and new for the LakeView Lions and for Albert Lea,&uot; Smith said.
Tickets are $5 per person, which includes dessert and coffee and a chance at the many, many door prizes.
In addition, the floral arrangements made that evening will be raffled off.
All proceeds will go to support local Lions projects and the Lions International projects of sight and hearing.
Tickets may be purchased at all three Andersens Hallmark Stores, Ben’s Floral and Frame Designs, Flowers by Curt, Johnson Floral and from LakeView Lions Club members.
