For Adam Elseth and Josh Hansen, the present can’t get much better.

The young Tigers finished fifth among seven teams while Elseth and Hansen were impressive in capturing individual championships Saturday.

Totino-Grace won with 228.5 points, followed by Northfield with 175, Eastview 145, Faribault 127.5, Albert Lea 115, Eagan 81.5 and Scott West 59. A week earlier, Scott West was first at the Waseca Invitational.

&uot;Elseth and Hansen had a great tournament,&uot; said Goodnature. &uot;Our young and inexperienced wrestlers took some lumps. We lost some close matches and that disappoints me – we need to win those. But we are young and we learned a lot and we will get better as the year goes on. Next year it will be our turn.&uot;

It was Elseth and Hansen’s turn Saturday. Elseth, a sophomore, won the 135-pound title to improve his record to 12-0 while Hansen, a junior, was first at 103 with a bye and two pins. Hansen improved to 11-1.

Also having a good day, according to Goodnature, were Adam Morreim, Justin Krueger and Brandon Klukow.

Morreim was third at 140, Krueger third at 171 and Klukow third at 125.

Other Albert Lea places: Neal Underdahl, fourth, 130; Alex Hansen, sixth, 112; Chris Hable, sixth, 275.

Also wrestling but not placing: Nate Goodnature, 119; Nate Loberg, 145; Brandon Servantez, 160; Derek Goodnature, 189.

Albert Lea did not have an entrant at 152.

The Tigers are off until Friday, when they host Rochester John Marshall and Northfield in a triangular starting at 5 p.m.
