Hometown Broadcasting is owned by Dennis Martin, Greg Jensen and Gary Pestorious.

Martin said this is the first time the station has been locally owned and operated. The studios for KQPR were previously located in Faribault.

He said the partners began talking in early September and filed their application for ownership with the Federal Communications Commission.

They began the process of gutting the building at 109 E. Clark St. (the former Dress Realty office) for remodeling into broadcast studios. The sale became official on Dec. 11.
