WASECA &045; The playing conditions were tough and the Albert Lea High School boys’ golf team continued to play tough.
With nasty winds blowing off Clear Lake, the Tigers remained undefeated with a nine-hole victory at Waseca’s Lakeside Golf Club Tuesday, winning 156-173.
&uot;It was a challenge out there today,&uot; said ALHS coach Doug Christopherson. &uot;The wind was just miserable, probably the stiffest wind we’ve had all spring, and it was worse coming off the lake.
But I’m kind of happy with the fact we won.&uot;
The Tigers’ Dan Breuer and Josh Jones were co-medalists at 37. Adam Boelter shot 39, Adam Elseth 43. Missing the scoring cut were Josh Tubbs at 47 and Matt Tubbs at 49.
The win improved the Tigers to 3-0 in dual meets. The junior varsity is also 3-0 after a 175-199 win at Waseca. Scoring: Jon Breuer 40, Ross Stadheim 43, Troy Farnes 46, Matt Bennett 46.
The Tigers are off until Friday’s New Prague Invitational, where they’re the defending champions.
