Luella C. Nagel, 91, Glenville

Funeral services for Luella C. Nagel, age 91, formerly of rural Glenville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 20, at Round Prairie Lutheran Church. The Rev. Tammy Dahlvang will officiate. Interment will be in North Round Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the Bayview/ Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Luella died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at Thorne Crest South in Albert Lea.
Luella Christina Nagel was born Aug. 14, 1910, to Lars and Christine (Grefthen) Kvam in Freeman Township. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1929. On June 7, 1931, Luella was united in marriage to Kermit Ferrel Orlando Nagel at the family home. She was a lifelong resident of Freeborn County. Luella was a member of Round Prairie Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, belonged to the ELCW, and was involved in many church activities, including being the Round Prairie Lutheran Church Historian. She had been a member of the Farm Bureau, was a 4-H leader, and had been a news correspondent for the Glenville Progress, Emmons Leader, and The Register for a total of 55 years. Luella loved making quilts and giving them away, especially to her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Paul Nagel and his wife Lorraine of rural Glenville; grandchildren: Randy Nagel and his wife Marci of Oronoco, Scott Nagel and his wife Kerry of Whitefish, Mont., Kevin Nagel of Stevens Point, Wis., and Linda Madson and her husband Randy of Minneapolis; great-grandchildren: Melinda, Brett, Jay and Jeff Nagel, and Jack and Lila Madson; sister-in-law, Wilma Kvam of Northwood, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ferrel; three brothers: Joseph, Melvin and Olaf; and two sisters: Olga Reyerson and Edna Furgeson.
Memorials are preferred to the Round Prairie Lutheran Handicap Fund.
