Football Tigers display offseason dedication

Head coach Jeff Marty has said offseason work will be a key for the 2002 Albert Lea High School football team, and at least 23 varsity hopefuls have been busy in the weight room.
For the month of May, the top &uot;power rating,&uot; a combination of bench press, squat, power clean and the 40-yard dash, was 4.63 by Jason Kuipers. Kuipers had the top power clean lift, 184 pounds, and the second fastest 40 at 4.72 seconds.
The top bench press belonged to David Heijerman, 250 pounds. Darik Weitzel benched 235, Kuipers and Tony Tolberg 230. Weitzel had the top squad, 308 pounds.
Jake McClaskey was fastest in the 40 at 4.69. Mike Carr ran it in 4.75.
Also participating in the program are Jake Christensen, Cory Kuipers, Zach Marty, Jared Butler, Ross Anderson, Trent Miller, Ryan Truesdell, Ryan Moore, Jacob Fair, Greg Heijerman, Seth Henry, Preston Dahl, Steve Sawin, Travis Klatt, Ben Edwards, Jon Overland and Jose Irlas.
