Harold Loge, 92, Blue Earth

Harold Loge, age 92, of Blue Earth, died Saturday, June 1, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 5, at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Brethren Church in Blue Earth, with the Rev. Dale Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, and one hour prior to services at the church.

He was born Feb. 3, 1910, in Springfield Township, Iowa, the son of Lars and Laurensa (Agland) Loge.

He was baptized and confirmed at Shiloh Lutheran Church at Elmore. On Feb. 3, 1933, he married Nelda Iona Worden at Elmore. They farmed in the Elmore, Pilot Grove, and Grove City areas. In later years he worked for the Grove City and Mapleton School Districts, before retiring and moving to Bricelyn, They moved to the Crescent Apts. and to St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in 2000. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Brethren Church in Blue Earth. He loved traveling and seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His hobbies included carving and painting. Harold left many good memories and will be missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Nelda Loge of Blue Earth; son, Merlin and his wife Marilyn Loge of Chaska; son, Virgil and his wife Mardelle Loge of Albert Lea; daughter, Nelda Jean and her husband Jerry Corn of West Long Branch, N.J.; daughter-in-law. Janice and her husband Don Smith of Lake Mills, Iowa; granddaughter, Kimberly and her husband Lary Anderson of Cedar Falls, Iowa; granddaughter, Kathy Aniley of Lake Mills, Iowa; grandson, Kerry and his wife Tami Loge of Granger, lowa; granddaughter, Pam and her husband Thomas Furman of Waconia, Minn.; granddaughter, Robin and her husband Mike Lenzen of Carver, Minn.; grandson, Mitchell Loge of Waconia; granddaughter, Peggy Loge of Carver, Minn.; grandson, Perry Loge of Albert Lea; granddaughter, Torey and her husband Khris Kaufman of Emmons; granddaughter, Darla and her husband Brandon Nienoord of Austin; granddaughter, Deann and her husband Erik Skarstad of Albert Lea; grandson, Jacob Corn of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; grandson, Justin Corn of Ashland, Ore.; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Holland of Frost; sister,: Alice and her husband Harold Lunning of Alden; and sister-in-law,: Arlene Loge of Donnely, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Harold NeDean; brothers: Lenord, Louis, Levi, Lee and Sigvert; sisters: Anna and Alma; and great-grandson, Jared.
