Gary Lee “Delbert” Johnson, age 51, of WeIls, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at his home in Wells of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, at the United Methodist Church in Wells. The Rev. Kenneth Haack will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 19, at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Wells.
He was born
July 27, 1950, the son of Robert Dale and Wilma (Lacher) Johnson in Albert Lea.
Gary lived in the Wells area all of his life, graduating from Wells-Easton High School, the class of 1968. He attended Austin Junior College and graduated in 1970 with a degree in marketing. He farmed and drove truck most of his life. Gary was a member of United Methodist Church in Wells. He enjoyed sports, playing cards, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by four children: Rebecca and husband Tom Schnoor of Minnesota Lake, Robert Johnson and special friend Nicole Meyer of Mapleton, Amanda Johnson of Mapleton, and Heather Johnson of Mapleton; one granddaughter, Taylor Schnoor of Minnesota Lake; parents: Robert D. and Wilma Johnson of Wells; three brothers: Neil and wife Marlene Johnson of Denver, Colo., Charlie and wife Deb Johnson of Wells, and Scott and wife Linda Johnson of Wells; four nieces and one nephew: Nicole, Melissa, Amber and Lindsay Johnson, and Darin and wife Rachel Johnson; and one great-niece, Tyra Johnson.
His grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins preceded him in death.
