David Gene Budach, 54, New Richland

The funeral service for David Gene Budach will be at 10.30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the First Congregational Church in New Richland. The Rev. Charles Espe and The Rev. Casey VanderBent will officiate. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland, and one hour before the service at the church.
David died on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, in New Richland. He was 54 years old.
David was born in Mankato on Dec. 1, 1947, the son of Gene and Mildred (Melcher) Budach, He was a 1965 graduate of Ellendale High School and attended two years at Mankato Technical College.
On March 23, 1968, David was united in marriage with Cynthia Low at East Freeborn Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. They are members of First Congregational Church where David was active in church activities and was presently serving as head deacon.
David was president of Budach Implement in New Richland. He was a member of New Richland Lions Club, New Richland Sportsman Club, and the Elks. He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. His family was very important to him and time spent with his grandchildren was special.
David is survived by his wife, Cynthia of New Richland; two children: Michael Budach and his wife LeeAnne of Owatonna, and Shari Hanson and her husband Mark of New Richland; three grandchildren: Brock and Macy Hanson and Noah Budach; parents, Gene and Mildred Budach of New Richland; one brother, Gary Budach and his wife Kris of New Richland; two sisters: Irene Krueger and her husband Ralph of New Richland, and Lynn Hagen and her husband Steve of Ellendale; mother-in-law, Bernice Low of Albert Lea; two sisters-in-law: Janiece Quam of Emmons, and Sandy Becker and her husband Joe of Albert Lea; and nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Vale Low; and two brothers-in-law: Randy Knutson and Paul Quam.
