Robert T. Bremer, 56, Des Plaines, Ill.

Funeral services for Robert T. Bremer, age 56, of Des Plaines, Ill., and formerly of Owatonna, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral chapel. The Rev. James Haun will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville. Military honors will be accorded by area servicemen’s organizations. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the Chapel.
Robert passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at his home.
Robert Thomas Bremer was born Nov. 18, 1945, to Lawrence and Cecile (Nelson) Bremer in Albert Lea. He attended school in Glenville and graduated from Glenville High School in 1963. Robert entered the United States Marine Corps and served during the Viet Nam War as a radio operator. In 1968 he was united in marriage to Mary Thompto in Northwood, Iowa. They moved to Faribault where Robert worked as a loan officer for Thorpe Loan & Thrift. He was then transferred to the Thorpe office in Decorah, Iowa. Later Robert was a loan officer for several financial institutions around the area until he moved to Des Plaines, Ill where he worked as a transportation manager.
Survivors include his mother, Cecile Bremer of Apple Valley; children: Marcy Olson and husband Brad of Owatonna, Kimberly Bremer of Owatonna, and Robert Bremer of Mankato; sisters: Marge Ozburn of Des Plaines, Ill., and Wendy Bremer of Burnsville; brother, Randy Bremer of Hayward; and one granddaughter and one grandson.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, a grandchild, and a brother-in-law.
