TRUMAN &045; The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers moved the football effectively enough.
They just couldn’t move it into the end zone.
The Panthers stalled twice inside their opponents’ 20-yard line and lost a 6-0 defensive battle at Madelia/Truman Friday night. NRHEG saw its record fall to 1-3 while M/T improved to 2-2.
Madelia/Truman scored the only touchdown early in the first quarter.
The Panthers outgained M/T 216-187 overall and 161-106 on the ground.
Joey Balfe ran 20 times for 100 yards to lead NRHEG. Jason Lennox had 12 carries for 50 yards. Bjorn Peterson was 7-for-14 passing for 65 yards, with no interceptions. Michael Hullopeter and Andy Wenzel caught two passes apiece.
Hullopeter’s 11 tackles led the defense. Patrick Petsinger had seven tackles, Justin Hove four tackles and a sack, Kaleb Jacobson four tackles.
The Panthers travel to 0-4 Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial this Friday.
