Albert Lea native named to NDSU Athletic Hall of Fame

FARGO, N.D. &045; Albert Lea High School graduate Trisha (Reichl) Cyr is one of eight new members to be inducted into the Bison Athletic Hall of Fame at North Dakota State university.
A setter for the NDSU volleyball team from 1984-87, Cyr was a first team All-American in 1987 and a three-time All-North Central Conference selection. In 1986, she led the Bison to their first NCAA Final Four appearance, and she played on NDSU teams that compiled a record of 162-50 in four seasons, including three NCAA tournament berths. She was twice an all-region selection and was the Bison captain as a senior.
Cyr ranks fourth all-time at NDSU with 4,096 assists.
Cyr’s volleyball career continued after college, and she was a three-time USAV All-American playing on the national runner-up team in 1996 and national championship team in 1997. Her squad was the 30-and-over national runner-up in 1999.
In high school, Cyr was captain of her volleyball and basketball squads.
Cyr currently lives in Dallas, Texas, where she is a senior director for Mary Kay, Inc. Her husband, John, was a wrestler at NDSU.
The hall of fame induction is Friday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at the Fargo Holiday Inn.
