Ione Marie Doppelhammer, age 51, of Mound, passed away in her home Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Sept. 7, 1951, to Irving and Janice (Hanson) Grove.

Ione is preceded in death by her father, Irving Grove.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Robert; daughters: Alison and Kristen; mother, Janice; brothers: Darrell (Marcia) Grove and Keith (DeeAnn) Grove; friends at Westonka School District; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

lone was a teacher at Grandview Middle School since 1976 and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and traveling. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3745 Shoreline Dr., Navarre, with the Rev. Loren Davis officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 25, from 4-8 p.m. at the Huber Funeral Home, Mound Chapel, and again on Saturday at the church from 12-1 p.m. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
