Corwin E. Larson, 87, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Corwin E. Larson will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at the First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Veterans’ Organizations.
Corwin died on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 87 years old.
Corwin was born on Sept. 7, 1915. His parents were Hans and Hilda (Fredrickson) Larson. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army.
On July 15, 1941, Corwin was united in marriage with Doris Heine at Pickerel Lake.
Corwin worked for Weyerhaeuser until his retirement in 1980 after 30 years of employment. He was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing, playing the violin, harmonica and mandolin, and the family dog.
Corwin is survived by his wife, Doris of Albert Lea; two children: Craig Larson of Albert Lea, and Jodi Porter and her husband Larry of Carpenter, Iowa; two grandchildren: Kathy and John Porter of Carpenter, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Arlene Hanson and Cleone Vogelsang; and one brother, Adler Larson.
