Kim Rory Kyllo, 56, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Kim Rory Kyllo will be hold at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Lyndon West will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements. Military honors will be accorded by Albert Lea veterans’ organizations.
Kim died on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 56 years old.
Kim was born in Rochester on Dec. 7, 1946, the son of Marvin and Shirley (Dickmann) Kyllo. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, where he had been confirmed and served as acolyte.
Kim was a 1965 graduate of Albert Lea High School where he was active in football, basketball, baseball and track. He was a 1969 graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, and received a masters of art degree from Mankato State College in 1974.
He was an MP in the U.S. Army from 1969-71.
Kim taught high school English and coached basketball and football in Fairmont, and Melrose/Mindoro, Wis.
He enjoyed all sports and attended sporting events in which his nieces and nephew played.
Kim is survived by his parents: Marvin and Shirley Kyllo of Albert Lea; two brothers: Jamie Kyllo and his wife Nancy of Albert Lea, and Dr. Eric Kyllo of Waco, Texas; nieces and nephew: Kristin and Brian Kyllo of Albert Lea, and Amy Ladlie and her husband Aaron of Mankato; one great-nephew, William Ladlie; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Melinda and John Petrick, and Clara and Robert Kyllo.
