Elizabeth ‘Alice’ Troska, 95, Alden

Elizabeth &uot;Alice&uot; Troska, age 95, of Alden, died from cancer Saturday, April 12, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Visitation will be at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Casimir Cemetery in Wells.

She was born Nov. 15, 1907, in Freeborn County, the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Dulas) Wanzek. She was married to Andrew J. Troska Jr. on Oct. 25, 1932, in Wells.

She attended country school in Freeborn County, the Freeborn School, and St. Casimir Catholic School in Wells. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, the rosary society, W.C.C.W. and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She was also a member of the Alden Senior Citizens and enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and making doughnuts.

She is survived by two daughters: Margaret (husband Walter) Helland of Alden, and Helen (husband Arnold) Skov of Alden; five grandchildren: Brenda (husband Ray) Lund of Mankato, Marilyn (husband Dr. Randall) Miller of New Albany, Ohio, Janet (husband Faron) Bremseth of Alden, Ross (wife Kelly) Skov of Alden, and Anita (husband Charles) Majerus of Alden; 11 great-grandchildren: Lee and Courtney Miller, Erin, Matt and Emily Bremseth, Anna, Karina and Adam Skov, and Cameron, Blake and Joshua Majerus; one sister, Elnora Evan of Mankato; one brother, Norbert (wife Elaine) Wanzek of Wells; and one sister-in-law, Helen Wanzek of Mankato.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew, in 1978; a sister, Regina Bias; brothers: Leon, George and Frank Wanzek Jr.; three siblings in infancy; and one great-granddaughter, Nicole Majerus.
