Helen Roselyne Wilhelm, 78, Twin Lakes

Funeral services for Helen R. Wilhelm, age 78, of Twin Lakes, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Lunder Lutheran Church. The Rev. Tammy Dahlvang will officiate. Interment will be in Lunder Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today, Friday, April 25, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Helen died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.
Helen Roselyne Wilhelm was born June 18, 1924, to John and Margaret (Madsen) Korakas in Wells. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1942 and lived in Albert Lea for a short time. On May 18, 1945, Helen was united in marriage to Lawrence J. Wilhelm in Glenville. The couple has lived in Twin Lakes for over 50 years. Helen belonged to Lunder Lutheran Church where she was a member of a Ladies Circle. She especially enjoyed working crossword puzzles and painting with watercolors.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence of Twin Lakes; children: Lauryne and husband Jim Stem of Wells, Julene Nelson of Madison, Wis., Larry and wife Debra Wilhelm of Zurnbro Falls, Minn., and Pauline and husband Scott Asbill of Modesto, Calif.; grandchildren: Lorryna and husband Jon Marshall of Des Moines, Iowa, Lenny and wife Stephanie Hulburt of Sauk Rapids, Minn., Tammi and husband Chris Nelson of Las Vegas, Nev., Shawn Wilhelm and wife Stacy of Goodview, Minn., Bryan and wife JoAnn Wilhelm of Zumbro Falls, Michelle and husband Joshua Benike of Elgin, Minn., and Eric Asbill of Modesto, Calif.; and eight great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her father, John Korakas; mother, Margaret Flatrud, and stepfather, Carl Flatrud; sisters: Faye Hockenson and Janice Rivas; brother, George Korakas; and two sisters in infancy.
