Irene Delgado, 85, Albert Lea

Irene Margaret Ann Delgado was born in Wells on Feb. 8, 1918, the daughter of Carl &uot;Charley&uot; and Anna (Draeger) Martin. On Aug. 6,1933, she married Raymond Richard Delgado, Sr. They lived and farmed in the Hollandale area. Irene had a stroke Saturday, March 31, at Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea, where she had lived the last few years, She died there Friday, April 4, 2003, A private family viewing was held at Bonnerup Funeral Home, Albert Lea. A private family burial service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Newry Township.

Irene enjoyed visiting with friends and dancing, especially square dancing, She and her husband were early members of the Grapevine Twisters in Albert Lea.

Irene is survived by one daughter, Dolores Delgado; three sons: Raymond &uot;Dick&uot;, Jr., (Carol Cole, friend), Ralph (Loni) and Francis (Darlene) all of Hollandale; two sisters: Mish (Louie) Mortinson of New Richland, Dorothy Ratigan of Wells; one brother, Gordon (Juanita) Martin of Wells, Grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Connie Zweber and Craig Zweber both of Minneapolis, Lt. Commander Raymond &uot;Rich&uot; III (LaDonna) Delgado and their daughter, Cora, of Mississippi, Lisa (Mike) Weeden and their daughter, Kelsey of New Hampshire, Dan Delgado of Indiana, Angie (Steve) Bushlack and their children, Chloe and Mark of Wells. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Richard, Sr.; sisters: Margaret (Bob) Tufte of Lyle, Minn., Gladys (Clarence) Johnson of Waseca, Minn., Bernice (Bill) Decker of Austin; brother, Roy Martin of Wells; grandson, Mark Delgado, Hollandale.
