Odin Ingvaldson, 87, rural Blooming Prairie

Odin Ingvaldson, age 87, of rural Blooming Prairie died Friday morning, April 25, 2003, at his home.
Odin Phillip Ingvaldson was born June 21, 1915, in Riceland Township, Freeborn County, to John J. and Severina (Hyland) Ingvaldson. He went to Bell School one mile north of Lardahl. He moved to Blooming Prairie where he worked at Johnson Meat Market. On May 8, 1938 Odin Ingvaldson married Mildred A. Smith in Geneva. Odin started farming in 1939 in the Blooming Prairie area and has been living at the present residence for 51 years.
Surviving is son Marvin R. Ingvaldson of rural Blooming Prairie, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Clifford Ingvaldson of Mahtomedi, Minn. and several nieces and nephews. Odin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mildred, who passed away on March 2, 1977, and son Roger who died on March 12, 1943. Odin enjoyed the farm and loved draft horses and going to draft horse sales.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2003, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Rev. Richard Hegal and Rev. Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Burial will follow in Geneva Cemetery in Geneva. Visitation will be held today, Sunday, April 27 from 3-6 p.m., at the Worlein-Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
