Memorial services for Pamela S. Jesse, age 58, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, at Ascension Lutheran Church. The Rev. Richard Spande will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Pam died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Pamela Sue Jesse was born July 24, 1944, to Carl and Mertice (Espeland) Schuhmacher in Albert Lea and was a life-long resident. Pam was confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, attended Albert Lea schools, and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1962. She worked at Northpark as a bridal consultant and then owned and operated Courtly Manor for many years with her husband. Pam was later employed by Fleet Farm. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, where she was active as a Sunday school teacher and working with the youth. Pam loved sewing, gardening, playing cards and was an accomplished seamstress. One of her special friends was her cat, &uot;Buddy.&uot; Pam was a 23-year cancer survivor.
Survivors include children: Lee Jesse of Des Moines, Iowa, and Lynn Jesse of Albert Lea; grandson, Ian Jesse of Des Moines, Iowa; mother, Mert Schuhmacher of Albert Lea; brother, Kraig and wife Korla Schuhmacher of Albert Lea; nephews: Kory Schuhmacher of Oregon, Wis., and Kyle and wife Jane Schuhmacher and grandnephew Andrew Daniel, all of Arlington Heights, Ill.; nephew, Dan Jesse of Minnesota; niece, Beth and husband Bob Mehus of Rochester and their three children, Eric, Sara and Allison; former brothers-in-law: Roger and Gary Jesse; and former sister-in-law, Jane Jesse.
Pam was preceded in death by her father and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Ascension Lutheran Church Youth Fund.
