Funeral services for Anna Simon, age 101, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Rose will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is 12-2 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday.

Anna died Monday, June 23, 2003, at the Lake Mills Care Center.

Anna Simon was born Dec. 23, 1901, to Ole and Ingaborg (Borgen) Skogen in Norway. She attended country school in Winnebago County, Iowa. In June of 1923, Anna was united in marriage to Erbin D. Simon in Clear Lake, Iowa. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was very active in many of its organizations. Anna also volunteered at St. John’s and Good Samaritan.

Survivors include her son, Gerald (Sonny) and wife Rosie Simon of Albert Lea; daughter, lolet Elaine (Dot) and husband Marvin Anderson of Lake Mills; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Maxine Pool of Clear Lake, Iowa.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erbin; daughter, Lila Edwin and husband Owen Edwin; sisters: Ida, Olga, Agnes, and Irene; brothers: Helmer and Oscar; and great-great-granddaughters: Ashley Krell and Savannah Carlson.
