Albert Lea school district officials say there has been some misinterpretation in the community of Steve Lund’s quote in last Tuesday’s Tribune regarding paraprofessionals. Lund says he was not suggesting that paras are incapable of teaching long division, nor was he suggesting that they are incompetent. He was referring to the paraprofessionals’ lack of a license to conduct primary instruction, not their ability to teach.
