Memorial services for Allan Dale Carr, age 92, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28,
at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Marcia Hall will officiate. Private interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Dale passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Allan Dale Carr was born November 10, 1911, at Lone Rock, Iowa. He graduated from Ellendale High School in 1929. In 1936, Dale married Marie Springborg. They lived in various cities, returning to Albert Lea in 1946. Dale worked at Wilson’s as an electrician. He was also president of the union there for a period of time. In 1956, the couple moved to Janesville, Wis., where he and Marie started Dalmaray Step Co. In 1966, they sold the business and retired to Albert Lea. Dale enjoyed fishing and his coffee buddies at Hardee’s. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and one of the founders of the Fountain Lake Sportsmen’s Club.
Survivors include his sisters: Pat Martin in California, and Betty Williams in Arkansas; his brother, Jack Carr in Des Moines, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Jane from Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, in 2000; son, Michael; sister, Katherine; and his parents: Hugh and Pearl Carr.
Dale was loved by all and will be sadly missed.
