Edward Prantner, 83, Austin

Funeral services for Edward Prantner, age 83, of Austin will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at Hayward Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Malm will officiate. Interment will be in Bohemian National Cemetery. Visitation is from noon until the time of services at the church.
Edward died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at his home.
Edward Prantner was born June 10, 1920, to Emil, Sr. and Emma (Smetak) Prantner in Lucan, Minn. He attended Riverside School and District No. 75. On Sept. 9, 1942, Edward was united in marriage to Barbara Hartley at the Methodist Parsonage in Austin. He was a member of the Trondhjem Lutheran Church and the Eagles and had been a member of the Oakland Elevator Board and the Bohemian National Cemetery Board. Edward enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughter, Karan and her husband Jack Heather of Eyota; sons, David and his wife Connie Prantner and Dennis and his wife Lana Prantner, all of Austin; grandchildren: Todd and his wife Vicki Heather of Cannon Falls, Trent and his wife Amalia Heather of Dallas, Texas, Tara and her husband Tim Rogers of Apple Valley, Shannon and her husband William Brockmann of Hampton, Ill., Derek Prantner of Ames, Iowa, Chris Prantner of Waseca, Corey and his wife Kari Prantner of Farmington, and Anne Prantner of Austin; three great-grandchildren; sister, Emily Hansen of Austin; and brother Emil, Jr. and his wife Beverly Prantner of Austin.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; and three brothers: Jerome, Milo (Mike), and Donald (Doc).
In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to Trondhjem Lutheran Church or the Hospice program in Austin.
