Robbery reported at Korner Mart

At approximately 12:07 a.m. today, Nov. 12, the Albert Lea Police Department responded to a holdup alarm at the Korner Mart convenience store at 1311 W. Front St. in Albert Lea.
Upon arriving, officers met with the store clerks and determined that there had been an armed robbery at the store. The officers at the scene interviewed the employees and gave out suspect information immediately. Officers and the Albert Lea Police K-9 searched the immediate area for the suspect. No suspect was located.
The clerks reported to the officers that an unknown male in dark clothing had entered the store around 12:05 a.m. and demanded money. The clerks said the suspect was armed with a knife. One clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled the store on foot. The clerk was able to alert police with the store alarm. No injuries were reported to either clerk. Further information is not available at this time. The incident is under investigation.
