Iris June Vincent, 65, Albert Lea

Iris June Vincent, age 65, of Albert Lea, died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 24, 2003, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester following complications from suffering a stroke.
She was born June 5, 1938 in Austin, to Genevieve Hanson and Raymond Nelson. She attended Austin High School and graduated in 1956.
On Aug. 25, 1956 she married Clare Reese Vincent at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. Iris was a member of the Albert Lea Bowling Association and elected into the Austin Bowling Hall of Fame. She retired from Hormel Corporate office in 1995 after 20 years of service. She enjoyed attending her weekly Hardanger Support Group. A member of Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, she also enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, cooking and baking.
Survivors include her husband, Clare Vincent of Albert Lea; one daughter, Monica (Robert) Barr of Rice Lake, Wis.; three grandchildren, Dustin (Melissa) Barr of Albert Lea; Jennifer Barr of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Jason Barr of Rice Lake, Wis.; one great-grandchild, Logan Barr who meant the world to her; niece, Debra (Paul) Nelson of Mantorville; nephew, Joel (Penny) Nelson of Plainview; many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bob Nelson; sister-in-law, Helen Nelson and nephew, Jeffrey Nelson.
Private family funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 26, 2003 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. Todd Walsh officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2003 at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin. Interment is at Grandview Cemetery, Austin.
