Norma E. Passer, 82, Wells

Norma E. Passer, age 82, of Wells, died peacefully on Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Albert Lea.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the United Methodist Church in Wells, with the Rev. Art Keith officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in: Rosehill Cemetery, Wells
She was born Feb. 19,1921, in Hancock, Wis., the daughter of Oscar and Ida (Treslan) Harrison.
Norma moved to Wells as a young girl. She attended Wells High School graduating in 1938. She worked several jobs in town, including at Fink’s Department Store, doing childcare and working at the canning factory. She married Maynard Passer on Nov. 29, 1941, in Alden. Norma was a member of Wells United Methodist Church, EUB building committee and she was active in the church circles. She loved to bake and was known for her Christmas fruitcake. She enjoyed cross-stitch, quilting, gardening and visiting with friends and family. She enjoyed talking on the telephone.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy and her husband Jim Deutsch of Wells; two grandchildren: Pamela and husband Sean Ahrar of Burnsville, and Michael Deutsch of Brainerd; one brother-in-law, Norbert Beyer of Minnesota Lake; two nieces: Belva Fay of St. Paul, and Elaine MacDonald of Ingleside, Ill.; and special nephew, Robert Beyer of Minnesota Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maynard, in 1988; infant son, Paul, in 1959; and four sisters: Gladys Beyer, Thelma Lyon, Evelyn Miller, and Edna May in infancy.
