Ervin Larson, 87, Blue Earth

Ervin Larson, age 87, of Blue Earth, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Walker Methodist Health Care Center, Minneapolis.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with the Rev. Stephen Bohling and the Rev. Kenneth Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street, Blue Earth, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Ervin was born April 2, 1916, at Lerdal, the son of Louis and Mary (Peterson) Larson.

He was married to Fern Stephensen on Sept. 23, 1939, in Forest City, Iowa. Ervin farmed in the Frost area for many years before managing the Frost Creamery for nine years. In 1965 Ervin and family moved to Blue Earth where he worked for Blue Earth Light and Power Co., Telex and St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center. Following his retirement in 1983, Ervin worked for Patton Funeral Home for several years. He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth.

Ervin is survived by his wife, Fern Larson of Blue Earth; son, Steve (and wife Marg) Larson of Apple Valley; sister, Marian McCabe of Waterloo, Iowa; grandson, Matthew (and wife Denise) Larson of Apple Valley; granddaughter, Kate Larson of Bloomington; and great-granddaughter, Stephanie Gimberline of Apple Valley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Gloria Fuller; step-father, Martin Bagaason; and brothers: Leonard and Lyle Larson.
