Evelyn Lunning, 95, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Evelyn Lunning, age 95, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Zion Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Paul Aldrich will officiate. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Visitation is one hour prior to the services at the church. Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Evelyn died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Thorne Crest South.
Evelyn Pearl Emma Lunning was born Sept. 28, 1908, to Edward and Marie (Evans) Klatt in rural Blue Earth. She grew up and attended school in Blue Earth. On Feb. 14, 1940, Evelyn was united in marriage to Leslie Lunning. She worked in a grocery store, the Blue Earth Laundry, and for Green Giant for many years. Evelyn attended Zion Lutheran Church and was active in circle and the Ladies Quilting Group. She also belonged to a birthday club in Brush Creek. Evelyn enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include her children: Edward Lunning of Albert Lea, Marva and husband Truman Gullord of Albert Lea, and Julie and husband Steven Mangskau of Mankato; grandchildren: Todd and wife Lyssa Lunning of Buffalo, Michael and wife Heather Lunning of Zimmerman, Bradley and wife Janene Lunning of Austin, Amy and husband Jim Larson of Eagan, Kristine Gullord and husband Jeff Palmer of Albert Lea, and Nickolas Mangskau of Mankato; great-grandchildren: Jared Lunning of Buffalo, Ethan, Caleb and Noah Lunning of Zimmerman, Matthew and Claire Lunning of Austin, Emily and Adam Larson of Eagan, and Emma and Chance Palmer of Albert Lea; special nieces: Betty Twait and Donna Matheson; special friend, Kathleen Pownell; and many other nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; brothers: Elvin, Floyd and Marvin; and sisters, Sylvia and Florence.
