Janice Carol Schilling, 71, Glenville

Memorial services for Janice C. Schilling, age 71, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Rev. Mark Wendland will officiate. Interment will be in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the services at the church.
Janice died Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Janice Carol Schilling was born to Juhl and Virginia (Hubbard) Hansen in Crystal Lake, Iowa. She grew up in the Sargeant area and graduated from Austin High School. In 1951, Janice was united in marriage to Alexander “Fritz” Schilling. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood, Iowa. Janice was a member of First Lutheran Church and a former member of the Glenville American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed flower gardening, feeding birds, Nascar, baseball, and especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Eugene and his wife Angela Schilling and their children, Luke, Matt and Tim; Rodney Schilling and his sons, Alexander and Jordan; Wendell and his wife Julie Schilling and daughter, Hanna, and step daughter, Devon; Neal and his wife Jodi Schilling and their children, Brooke, Blair and Blake; and Terry Schilling; brother, Merlin and his wife Donna Hansen; twin sister, Janet and her husband Robert Goodrich; sister, Marvel and her husband Robert Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fritz; and her brother, James.
