Funeral services for Paul M. Silva, age 38, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Newry. The Rev. LaVern Trocinski will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral, with a rosary service in Spanish at 8:30 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
Paul died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Paul Martin Silva was born Jan. 25, 1966, to Refugio and Alejandra (Luna) Silva in Albert Lea. He attended schools in Albert Lea, graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1984 and Riverland Community College in 1986 as an industrial maintenance mechanic. Paul was a member of the Church of St. Theodore. He was interested in industrial mechanics and auto mechanics and enjoyed football, fishing, cooking, and especially taking care of his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his father, Refugio of Albert Lea; brothers and sisters: Antonia and her husband David Holmquist of Minneapolis, Guadalupe and her husband Dan Ditlevson of Conger, Refugio Jr. and his wife Anne Silva of Florida, and Jesse and his wife Debra Silva of Albert Lea; and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Alejandra; his sister, Maria de Jesus; and his grandparents.
