Walter H. Spat, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Walter H. Spat will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10,
at Bonnerup Funeral Chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the chapel.
Walter died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea, where lie had lived for the past four years. He was 96 years old.
Walter was born in Germany on Nov. 15, 1907, where he grew up and attended school. He was united in marriage with Gertrude Woller in Germany. They moved to Albert Lea in the 1940s.
Walter worked as a machinist for Almco for 20 years and had been retired for 34 years. He enjoyed fishing and going for breakfast and lunch with his wife, Gertrude, at McDonald’s.
Walter is survived by his wife, Gertrude of Albert Lea; daughter, Helga Boroff of Seattle, Wash.; and two grandsons: Donald Boroff of Seattle, Wash., and David Boroff of Albert Lea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers and sisters.
