GLENVILLE &045; A team that’s pounding the ball met a squad that’s short of pitching.

It made for a short game.

The Glenville-Emmons Wolverines needed only four-at bats to score 19 runs Monday while defeating visiting Alden-Conger 19-1 in a nonconference baseball game at Glenville.

&uot;When you look at the stats, it’s pretty unbelievable you can score 19 runs in a game,&uot; said Wolverines coach Louie Toulouse, whose team improved its record to 4-0. &uot;It just seems like everyone’s hitting the ball hard.&uot;

Mike Yocom was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Robert Flugum 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Michael Greibrok 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Nathan Cooper 2-for-4 with two RBIs Monday. Adding single hits were Travis Bottelson, Devan Kaasa, Alex Hansen, Seth Buchanan, Cole Thompson and Garrett Davis.

Yocom pitched six innings for the win.

The Knights had five hits, two by Matt Bremseth and one each from Ryan Wach, Josh Berg and Greg Opseth. Opseth and Berg pitched. Opseth took the loss.

The Wolverines travel to face Lyle/Austin Pacelli today. The Knights entertain USC Thursday.
