Jerome ‘Jerry’ Johnson, 57, Alden

Jerome &uot;Jerry&uot; Johnson, age 57, of Alden, died Friday, April 23, 2004, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, from complications of cancer.
Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. today, April 26, at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Wells. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel officiated. Visitation was held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 25, and one hour prior to services today. The burial will be held at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Wells.
Jerry was born Jan. 23,1947, the son of Ernest and Loretta (Dylla) Johnson in Albert Lea. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. He graduated from Alden High School in 1965. On Dec. 7,1968, he was united in marriage to Janice Zielie in Wells. Jerry served in the National Guard for a brief time. He farmed in rural Alden with his brother Donald. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church. He served as a Township Supervisor/Chairman for Carlston Township and was also a member of the Elk’s Club in Albert Lea. He enjoyed yearly vacations and outdoor sports activities with his family. Jerome loved his family and his family
loved him. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting antique Case tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Janice of Alden; four children: Kris and her husband Steve Schultz of Albert Lea, Kari Johnson of Wells, Kelly Johnson of Rochester, and Katie Johnson of Alden; mother, Loretta Johnson of Alden; two brothers: Don and his wife Judy Johnson of Wells, and Ken and his wife Stacey Johnson of Rochester; one sister, Mary and her husband Richard Stenzel of New Richland; one sister-in-law, Kathy Zielie of Lakeville; and numerous nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Roy; father- and mother-in-law: Donald and Muriel Zielie; and two brothers-in-law: Richard and Ronald Zielie.
