JANESVILLE &045; The NRHEG boys’ track and field continued its surprising spring, winning the Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Invitational Thursday.

The Panthers topped the six-team field with 116 points, followed by Mankato Loyola with 112, Maple River 104, Faribault Academies 96, JWP 58 and Montgomery-Lonsdale 28.

“It was very satisfying to finish first,” said co-coach Mike Weber. “It has been a long time coming. Guys who don’t score huge points, but pull in some, and just really compete in a hard-nosed fashion, gave us the win.”
