Roger Hallum, 75, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Roger Hallum, age 75, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Ascension Lutheran Church. Rev. Richard Spande will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the area Veteran’s Organizations. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Roger died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Roger Hallum was born May 18,1928, to George and Rhode (Talle) Hallum in Freeborn County. He graduated from Freeborn High School in 1946 and served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. On Oct. 23, 1954, Roger was united in marriage to Jeanne Grove at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Ascension Lutheran Church where he was very active on the church council. Roger was an auto mechanic for many years. He loved cars and enjoyed working on them. He especially liked visiting with people.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne of Albert Lea; children: Linda and her husband Bob Korman of Alden, and Douglas and his wife Tammy Hallum of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Jesse and Cody Korman, Justin Ceaman, and Angela and her husband Quent Jepson; great-granddaughter, Sienne Jepson; sister, VaLois Hallum; brother, James and his wife Mary Hallum; and nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Joanne Hallum.
