Christa Lynn Moffitt, 14, Gordonsville

Funeral services for Christa Lynn Moffitt, age 14, of Gordonsville, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, June 22, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Christa died on Friday, June 18, 2004, as the result of an automobile accident, which also involved her brother, Brandon, best friends and cousins, Nicole and Ryan Talamantes, and her boyfriend, Aaron..

Christa Lynn Moffitt was born on Nov. 27, 1989, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Tamera (Jensen) Praska and Adam Allan Moffitt. She lived in Albert Lea most of her life, attending Lakeview Elementary School and Southwest Middle School. She had been attending Glenville-Emmons High School. Christa was an accomplished poet, she enjoyed reading, singing, and participated in school choir, band and cheerleading. She was active in the Y Youth Camp and was in their &uot;Leader in Training&uot; this year, working with kindergartners. She enjoyed being with her brothers and sister, family and friends. She lived life to its fullest.

Christa is survived by her parents, Tamera and her husband Donald Praska of Gordonsville, and Adam and his wife Connie Moffitt of Albert Lea; her sister, Ashley Praska; brothers: Derek Praska, Joseph Roberts, Travis Moffitt, Brandon Roberts, and Jacob Moffitt; her grandparents: Sandra Krouse and Richard Lestrud, Marcia and Russell Moffitt, Cheryl Cummins, and Fred and Cheryl Moran; her honorary grandparents: Mike and Carol Thistlethwaite; her great-grandma, Marcine Drescher; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and her boyfriend, Aaron Loukes, age 17, son of Brian and Julie Loukes of New Richland.

Christa was preceded in death by her grandfathers: Gary Jensen and Conrad (Tex) Wernett; and her great-grandparents: Richard and Betty Lang, Torger and Velva Winterton, and Jessie Marvin and Laura Moffitt.

She had numerous friends. Christa touched the hearts of everyone she met. She will be missed forever.
