Charles L. Cooper, age 83, of Northwood, Iowa, died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Kensett, Iowa, with Rev. Allan Stoa officiating. Interment will be in the Kensett Cemetery, Kensett. Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Highway 65 South, Northwood.
Charles L. Cooper was born July 17, 1920, at Kensett, Iowa, the son of Ross and Edith (Barnes) Cooper.
On June 2, 1946, Charles married Virginia Pahl of St. Ansgar, Iowa, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar.
He is survived by two daughters: Jane (Steve) Trainer of Mason City, Iowa, and Carol (Steve) Hengesteg of Northwood; two sons: Marvin of Fargo, N.D., and Philip (Nancy) of Glenville; and six grandchildren: Christopher Trainer, Julie and Paul Hengesteg, Jesse Cooper, and Nathan, Danielle and Devin Cooper. Also surviving is one brother, Kenneth (Lois) Cooper of Lime Springs, Iowa; and sisters-in-law: Doris Cooper of Northwood, and Sylvia Pahl of Mason City.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Virginia; brother, Warren; and daughter-in-law, Renee Cooper.
