Larry Weberg, Merle Krause, Darryl Amundson, Al Knutson and Jim Pilgrim have delighted audiences throughout the area for years with their special brand of rock’n’roll. Their appearance in downtown Albert Lea is sponsored by the Downtown Association as featured entertainment for Downtown Crazy Days. The association says rock’n’roll fans, listeners and dancers will all want to be downtown Thursday evening when the memorable music of the Tones takes everyone back to the days when rock’n’roll came to stay.

Downtown Crazy Days is an annual event that features bargains and sales on the sidewalk, food vendors, and entertainment. The Joyce Matthies dancers will perform at 1:30 p.m., July 22. Thursday will also feature face painting all day and afternoon visits for kids to a fire truck and police cruiser. Power 96 United Way truck raffle tickets will be on sale.

Motorists are advised of Crazy Days street closings and asked to take care driving and avoid coming close to activities set up on the street. Although most downtown streets will be open on both Thursday and Friday, July 22 and 23, for parking, portions of William Street on both sides of Broadway will be closed all day Thursday and the intersection of Broadway and William will be closed on Thursday afternoon for setup and playing by L.D. Cruiser and the Tones. All streets will be open for shoppers who come on Friday for the continued sidewalk sales.
