Many businesses, government offices closed for Fourth of July

With the Fourth of July holiday falling on a Sunday, many government offices and retail businesses will be closed on Monday. The following is a partial listing. Call ahead if you are unsure if a business is open for business on Monday.
Government offices:
All Freeborn County and Albert Lea City offices will be closed on Monday. In addition, the U.S. Post Office will be closed. No mail will be delivered or collected.
The Albert Lea Library will be closed Sunday. The muncipal pool will be open Saturday from noon to 5 p.m., and Sunday and Monday from noon to 7 p.m.
Albert Lea Medical Center &045; part of Mayo Health System &045; announces that the following facilities will be closed on Monday: Albert Lea Clinic, Albert Lea Eye Clinic and Vision Plus, Alden Clinic, Behavioral Health, HealthReach, Kiester Clinic, Lake Mills Clinic, New Richland Clinic, Wells Clinic and Wells Eye Clinic.
Albert Lea Eye Clinic, Vision Plus and Lake Mills Clinic will also be closed on Saturday.
Albert Lea Medical Center’s Urgent Care will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday,
and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
As always, emergency room services at ALMC are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Banks, including Americana, Security, U.S., Wells Fargo, State Bank of Clarks Grove, Wells Federal and Home Federal will be closed Monday. State Farm Bank will have regular hours.
The YMCA will be closed Sunday, but open Monday.
ShopKo will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, but the pharmacy and optical areas will be closed.
Skyline Mall will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.
Clothing Care Center will be closed Saturday and Monday. Eastside Laundry wil close Friday at 6:30 p.m., and be closed July 4. Westside Laundry will remain open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. all weekend.
Other businesses closed Monday include: Constant Reader, Albert Lea Seed House, Martin’s Schwinn Cycling & Fitness, Crystal-Pierz Marine, Carquest Auto Parts, and many auto repair businesses.
Businesses closed Saturday: Holiday Lanes Bowling, Mystical Ink, Cup of Faith, Bible Book Store, and many barbers and hair salons will be closed or have shortened hours.
The Albert Lea Tribune office will be closed, but a Monday paper will be delivered.
