Ann Cibert, age 89, of Albert Lea, and formerly of Fort Dodge, Iowa, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at her son Tom’s home in Albert Lea under the
care of hospice.
Funeral services
will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, Fort Dodge, with the Rev. Lynn Bruch officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be today from
5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Surviving are her son, Tom Cibert of Albert Lea; daughter, Pat Allen of Blue Springs, Mo.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Martha (Arps) Thode; an infant son and daughter; sisters: Ema Danker and Frieda Lyons; and her husband,
Wesley Cibert.
Ann was born March 19, 1915, in Gaushorn, Germany. At the age of 10 she moved to the United States with her family and they settled on a farm near Glidden, Iowa. She lived there until the age of 12, and then moved to a farm near Duncombe, Iowa, where she graduated from Duncombe High School. On June 12, 1935, she was united in marriage to Wesley Cibert in Webster City, Iowa,
and they established their home in Fort Dodge. Ann worked for Montgomery Ward and Sears in the receiving department and was also a homemaker.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
