Lake Mills spikers top Forest City

LAKE MILLS, Iowa &045; Somebody finally managed to beat the Lake Mills High School volleyball team.

But only one game.

The Bulldogs remained undefeated for the season, improving to 16-0 overall and 6-0 in the North Iowa Conference, with a 3-1 victory over Forest City Tuesday night, winning 25-11, 25-12, 19-25, 25-16.

&uot;We played well early,&uot; said coach Jim Boehmer, whose team has lost only two of 40 games this year. &uot;In game three, we played not to lose and that is exactly what happened. Game four was close until we got on a late roll. Forest City is a dangerous team that is coached to win and tonight they played well.&uot;

The Bulldogs’ leaders: Molly Nelson 20-for-20 serving, four aces, 12 digs; Sarah Abele 17-for-18 serving, four aces, eight digs; Melissa Brackey 16-for-18 serving, three aces; Megan Pederson 20 kills, 12 digs; Elise Kingland nine kills; Jennie Finer 36 set assists.

The Bulldogs play Saturday in the Algona Garrigan Invitational.
