Lana L. Otterson, 61, St. Paul

Funeral services for Lana L. Otterson, age 61, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2004, at East Freeborn Lutheran Church. Rev. Joel Xavier and Rev. David Hernes will officiate. Interment will be in the East Freeborn Cemetery.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the Church.
Lana went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 1, 2004, at the Episcopal Nursing Home in St. Paul.
Lana Louise Otterson was born October 19, 1942, to Elzie M. and Lois L. (Falnes) Ford in Wichita Falls, Texas. She grew up in Wichita Falls and moved as a young woman to Grand Prairie, Texas. On December 18, 1959, Lana was united in marriage to Dovain Otterson in Grand Prairie. The couple moved to Minnesota in 1960. Lana worked for 25 years at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center, first as an aide, then in physical therapy, and the last years as an LPN. She was a member of the Community Lutheran Church in Geneva. Lana loved sewing, spending time with her grandchildren, and studying her bible. She especially loved her little dog, Gizmo.
Survivors include her husband, Dovain of rural Albert Lea; children: Shirley Otterson and Glen Curry of Mountain Iron, Minn., Lonnie Otterson and his wife Cindi of Rochester, Kristie Holcomb and her husband Tim of Wausau, Wis., and Patricia Karschnik and her husband Jerry of St. Paul; grandchildren: Rachael Slatter, Benjamin Curry, Alissa Holcomb, Trevor Holcomb, Lilly Otterson, and Samuel Otterson; mother, Lois Ellis of Grand Prairie Texas; sister, Shirley Hart and her husband Larry of Cedar Creek Lake, Texas; brother, Dewayne Ford and his wife Donna of Whitney, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Lana was preceded in death by her father, Elzie.
