Funeral services for Marvin L. Anderson, age 80, of rural Glenville, will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Bayview/ Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel Baker will officiate. Interment will be in the London Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2,

Marvin died on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at the New Richland Care Center.
Marvin L. Anderson was born June 22, 1924, to Martin and Clara (Hansen) Anderson in Albert Lea. He was very proud that he lived on the farm that had been in his family’s name since 1878. Marvin attended district #138 and Albert Lea High School. He began farming at age 17 and worked in the fields until last year when his health prevented him from continuing. In his younger years, Marvin helped many of his relatives and neighbors with their fieldwork. He was treasurer of the London Cemetery from 1962 to 1988 and also the treasurer of the local Ditch Board for many years.
Marvin married Ila Wahlers on Dec. 12, 1956, in Austin. He was a loving and dedicated husband, dad, and grandpa. Marvin was always concerned about his family.
Survivors include his wife, Ila Anderson; son, Richard Anderson of Glenville; daughters: Shirley Fingerson and her husband Steve of Rochester, and Donna Naylor and her husband Roe of Brownsdale; granddaughter, Stephanie Fingerson; step grandchildren: Nichole Kielb and her daughter, Anne-Marie, and Zachary Naylor; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: Joan Juhnke and her husband Robert, and Myron Ruffridge; and an aunt, niece, nephews, and cousins.
Marvin was preceded in death by his father in 1961; his mother in 1981; and his sister, Beverly Ruffridge, also in 1981.
